Greene County Medical Center announces Dr. Kelsey Sukovaty as a new provider for podiatry services. She is trained in all areas of foot and ankle care including total ankle replacement surgery, a unique surgery for providers to offer.
Sukovaty will perform podiatric surgeries at Greene County Medical Center on Mondays and Tuesdays each week. She will begin her services at the medical center Oct. 3.
Podiatrist Dr Timothy Holcomb will end his services at the medical center Sept. 2. He plans to continue his practice closer to his home.
“Continuing to provide the same podiatry specialty services at Greene County Medical Center is just another way we are investing in Jefferson and surrounding communities. Providing specialty services locally ensures the community is getting the highest quality care we can offer,” said Dr Laurie Connolly, chief medical officer at Greene County Medical Center. “Dr Holcomb will be missed at the medical center, but we are very excited to welcome Dr Sukovaty to our clinic and continue providing the same great podiatry care.”
Sukovaty is a native of Iowa, having grown up on a farm near Manson and attending the University of Northern Iowa. She received her doctorate of podiatric medicine and surgery at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, and completed her residency at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.
Common reasons to see a podiatrist include plantar fasciitis, toenail fungus or ingrown toenails, plantar warts, foot wounds, sports injuries to the foot and ankle, bunions, hammer toes, flat foot or high arches, and fracture or tendon trauma repair.
